On February 13th, 2019, Mr. Yuri Alejandro Chessman Olaechea, Director-General of the General Directorate of Criminological Affairs under the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Peru, made an official visit of the headquarters of the Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC). The purpose of the director-general’s visit was to seek consultation and hands-experiences from the KIC on the opening and operation of a national institute of criminology. The Peruvian Ministry of Justice plans to establish its own national institute of criminology that can contribute to crate a criminal policy through crime prevention and criminal policy.
