On May 26th, 2020, the Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC) held the Awards Ceremony for honoring researchers, faculties, and students who made outstanding contributions in research for 2019 and in research proposal for 2021. The Awards for Excellence in Research for 2019 were presented to the following researchers: -The Structure of and Countermeasure on the Real Estate Market Order Impediment (Seok-Ku KANG, Senior Research Fellow) -A Research on Prevention of Recidivism and Rehabilitation among Prison Inmates (Kwang-Hyun RA, Associate Research Fellow) -The Actuality of Criminal Legislation and The Legislative Assessment of Major Criminal Policies (I): The Foundation of the Criminal Legislation Assessment and Deduction on Major Criminal Policies (Jee-Young YUN, Research Fellow) -A Survey on Sports-related Violence and Countermeasures (Hye-Min JUNG, master student & Sung-Hun NOH, professor of Graduate School of Police Studies in Korean National Police University) -Reforming the System of National Security Criminal Law on New Terrorism: Focusing on Patterns of Terrorism-related Crimes that are not Convictable from the Law [Anti-Terrorism Act for the Protection of the People and Public Safety] (Chang-Hyun SON, a doctoral student of North Korea Studies of Korea University) The Awards for Excellence in Research for FY2019 were presented to the following researchers: -Research on Measures for Strengthening the Efficacy of Criminal Policy for Guaranteeing Public Safety (IV): A Study on the Safety Condition and Policy Issues in Foreign Population Concentrated Areas (Ji-Sun KIM, Senior Research Fellow; Kwang-Hyun RA, Associate Research Fellow) -The Criminal Justice Response and Development Strategy in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (II): The Internet of Things (IoT) & Blockchain (Jee-Young YUN, Research Fellow; Hyun-Wook CHUN, Research Fellow) -Study on Actual Situations and Countermeasure of Unlawful Practices of Law (II): Focusing on the Reality of Corruption Committed by ‘Attorney-At-Law Retired from Public Office’ and Its Countermeasures (Ji-Tae, HWANG, Research Fellow; Cheon-Hyun LEE, Senior Research Fellow; Jung-Ho LIM, Associate Research Fellow)
