KICJP signed an agreement with UNODC for the cooperation in Virtual Forum against Cybercrime On December 3rd in 2007, the Korean Institute of Criminal Justice Policy (KICJP) signed an agreement with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for the implementation of the Virtual Forum against Cybercrime. The Signing Ceremony with Professor Dr. Sang-Ki Park, President of KICJP, and UNODC Executive Director Mr. Antonio Maria Costa was held at UNODC headquarters in Vienna. On the same day, NHN Senior Vice President, Mr. Sirgoo Lee also made an agreement for the donation of $500,000 to UNODC to help establish the Virtual Forum against Cybercrime. This initiates the implementation of the online pilot training program of the Virtual Forum against Cybercrime for the Police of Vietnam during the first half of 2008. Since the workshop on “Measures to Combat Computer-Related Crime” at the 11th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice organized by KICJP in 2005, KICJP has prepared the Virtual Forum against Cybercrime. It will provide the on-line training courses for law-enforcement personnel including police officials and play a role as a communication center for cybercrime experts. Upon the agreement between KICJP and UNODC with the donation from NHN, KICJP can fully contribute to the international efforts to combat Cybercrime.
