Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop on Fighting Cybercrime

Date: September 21-23, 2011 Venue: Supreme Prosecutors' Office of Korea On 21-23 September 2011, the Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop on Fighting Cybercrime, jointly organized by the UNODC and the ITU (International Telecommunication Union) was held in Seoul, Korea. The workshop was supported by KIC, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office of Korea, and the Korea Internet Security Agency (KISA). Over 20 Asia-Pacific region countries committed to cooperate more closely to tackle the growing problem of cybercrime. The workshop also brought together over 60 ICT industry security specialists. The workshop was meaningful in that Asia-Pacific countries which are vulnerable to cybercrime were brought together to understand their current situation and problems, in effort to fight against cybercrime. This workshop also provided a forum for experts and related practitioners to exchange experience and knowledge on cybercrime.
