The 3rd Criminal Justice Forum

The 3rd Criminal Justice Forum, co-organized by the Korea Institute of Criminology (President Kim Il Su) and the Legal Research & Training Institute (President Roh Hwan Gyun), was held at Prosecution Office Digital Forensics center, the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, on March 22nd (Thursday). The forum was held to promote academic exchanges and cooperation between the two institutions and suggest policies about Criminal Justice. The main theme for the forum was: Advancement in Technology and Criminal Trial: Enhancement of Criminal Procedures. The subthemes of the forum are as follows; The 1st session: Legal grounds and limitations of Presentations in Trials (Presented by Professor Roh Myeong-sun) The 2nd session: Examine statements during trials- O.J Simpson’s Case (Presented by Prosecutor Kim Jong Ryul) The 3rd session: Prospects and Limitations of E-discovery and Digital Evidence (Presented by Prosecutor Tak Hee Sung) During the forum participants and panel discussed ways to make the current criminal procedures better by taking advantages of technological development. Tak Hee Sung and Yoon Hae Sung, researchers from the KIC, gave a presentation and participated in penal discussion.
