The Korean Institute of Criminology Co-Hosted the Northeast Asian Forum at Liaoning University

The Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC) co-hosted the 6th annual Northeast Asian Forum for Criminal Justice Conference held on September 19th at Liaoning University Law School, Shenyang, China. The Northeast Asian Forum's theme for this year is environmental crime. KIC had three representatives as presenters: · Dr. Seong-Jin Yeon presented his paper, Social Change, and Environmental Crimes: Theoretical Perspectives and Control Measures. · Dr. Kyoung Chan Kim presented his paper, Characteristics of Korean Environmental Law and Mutual Cooperation among Northeast Asian Countries. · Dr. Ji Tae Hwang presented his paper, The Trend of Environmental Crime in Korea. Four other universities participated in the conference: Heilongjiang University, Jilin University, Liaoning University, and Yanbian University. Since its launch in 2013, the Northeast Asian Forum has set up a cooperative network and collaborative academic environment with scholars, practitioners and government officials to develop innovative strategies for combatting crime and effective policy implications in the criminal justice system.
