The 2012 annual meeting of the American Society of Criminology (ASC) takes place, November 14 - 17, 2012 in Chicago, IL at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel. The theme for the annual meeting is “Thinking About Context: Challenges for Crime and Justice.” The Korean Institute of Criminology participates in this year’s meeting of the ASC for the first time. Participation of the KIC was arranged by Professor Chris Escridg, the secretary of the American Society of Criminology, during the 4th Annual Conference of the Asian Criminological Society which was co-hosted by the KIC. During the annual meeting of the ASC, KIC promotes its major activities including VFAC (Virtual Forum Against Cybercrime) and Towards Asiajusts as cybercrime and transnational organized crimes have drawn attentions considering their implications on the international community. The two institutes will discuss ways to expand exchange programs among scholars and to strengthen networks.
