On August 4th, Korean Institute of Criminology and congressmen jointly hosted a policy seminar with the title, “Voice of the Public & Direction of the 21st National Assembly’s Penal Legislation” in the National Assembly Hall. In the seminar, continuing cooperation between the National Assembly and research institutes, such as Korean Institute of Criminology was highlighted due to the increasing demand of a scientific consultation for the legislation of the criminal law and the Criminal Procedure Law. It was also stressed that the Assembly and the government should listen to the public’s voice with special attention to minorities, so that the legislation can be achieved reflecting the public’s demand.
