A webinar will be held under the theme, “Trafficking Prevention and the Victims: New United Nations and Academic Perspectives”, on 11 December 2012, 3 pm CET/Vienna time, at Vienna International Center. The webinar is hosted by The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the United Nations Information Service (UNIS) Vienna, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the University of Vienna (Austria), the UN Academic Impact Initiative, the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS), universities and other educational and training institutions worldwide present. After the webinar, participants are expected to have insight into human trafficking pose a new and worrying threat to international security, and understand how migrants may be particularly vulnerable to trafficking in persons.
